The Art of the Architectural Interview
Sophisticated clients don’t hire design firms on the basis of exceptional design alone. In a mature market, every competitor has brilliant designs. Design alone can’t differentiate. This practical, stimulating experience will introduce you to a strategic way of developing and delivering a compelling, ”value-focused” message that demonstrates your firm’s ability to meet that client’s objectives—from RFP to the final interview.

All of Dan Sapp’s offerings are customized to a client’s specific situation and needs.

Offerings

All of Dan Sapp’s offerings—consulting, workshops, and keynotes—have been developed to help you do one thing:
get results when you talk.

Whether you talk to one person sitting across the table, a small group in a boardroom, or a thousand people in a ballroom, as a business communicator, your job is to connect and drive results every time you talk.

Dan’s “Delta Model” challenges you:

  1. Define your objective—the specific result you want for every meeting or talk.
  2. Objectively understand your audience. What motivates them? What are they hoping to accomplish? What are they afraid of? What is success for them?
  3. Craft a message that will resonate with the people you talk to and give them a reason to respond the way you want them to.
  4. Select ideas and images that convince. Everything you say, show, and do must move your audience toward the result you want.
  5. Make the choices with your body and voice that give other people a reason to listen, a reason to take your ideas seriously, a reason to be open to a connection. When you make the right choices, you project authority, express commitment, and create connection—every time you talk.

About the “Delta Model”
The “Delta Model” is a proprietary communication development process that Dan has refined over his 20 years of business consulting. It’s based on the fundamental assumption that every time leaders talk, they have  an opportunity to deepen relationships, inspire others, and drive an organization forward. The “Delta Model” challenges leaders to identify the precise response they hope to create—acceptance, belief, action—as well as the reality, needs, dreams, and fears of the people they talk to, before they “organize content.” The process defines messages, supporting ideas, and graphic materials that advocate and convince, never merely inform. The “Delta Model” also helps leaders identify and practice the key physical choices each individual must make in order to have maximum impact and comfort, as well as to make strong connections in every important communication.
